STASHA

Clark County peer educators for youth substance use prevention
Picture

We are Clark County STASHA, and this website is for you.

We are a group of youth working to protect our community and our peers from the impacts of substance use. We noticed that most websites about youth substance use prevention are created by adults, so we made this website as a space to better our community and to connect with you, youth to youth.

This website is a space where you can ask questions, learn more about substances, find resources, and just get to know STASHA and what we do. Our goal is for you to feel safe and welcome, and hopefully to come away with some extra knowledge.

We know from research the kinds of negative effects drugs and alcohol can have on young brains (under 25). We want to improve youth access to information about drugs and alcohol.

Being a youth can be stressful. Sometimes the media glamorizes substance use as a way to cope, when in reality there are way cheaper, healthier, and more effective ways to handle stress. We want to share the resources and the coping strategies that work for us!

This site includes information to help all youth. Are you here for yourself? We got you. Worried about a family member or friend? We got you. Here for a school project? We're here for it. This is a judgement free zone, and you are welcome here no matter what!

What is STASHA?

STASHA stands for Strong Teens Against Substance Hazards and Abuse. We are a nonjudgmental and inclusive group of Clark County, WA youth (ages 12-19) preventing youth drug and alcohol use, using our words and in our own way. We noticed that most websites about youth substance use prevention are created by adults, so we made this website as a way to better our community by connecting with you, youth to youth.

We are fighting for a better future for youth in Clark County and beyond!

Check out our playlist, STASHA Happy Chaos!

We made the STASHA Happy Chaos playlist because we love music and it is a big part of our daily activities. It helps us relax, get motivated, and makes us happy. We want to share our favorites with others and hope it helps them like it does us.

We also made a booklet to go with the playlist to talk about what music means to us, how music relates to prevention, and ways music can be used to shift your mood or help you relax. You can see the pages of our booklet in the photo gallery below.

    Ask STASHA!

We're here to answer your questions about drugs and alcohol, prevention, local resources, and anything else related to our work. You can ask us your questions anonymously (without sharing your name and email) and a STASHA member will write an answer to your message and post it on the blog. Or, if you choose to provide your email address, we'll email you our response directly.

You're welcome to include specific details about yourself or your situation, and if you do we may edit your question before we share it anywhere to help protect your privacy. Personal details are kept confidential unless your question falls under mandatory reporting requirements, which you can read more about on the Resources page under "What's the definition of...". And if you have a question that's not related to substances or prevention but you'd still like to talk to another youth, please feel free to reach out to Teen Talk!
